David Finn, Psy.D.
Owner, Director of Associates in Human Development Counseling, LLC
As the Director of A.H.D.C., Dr. Finn is responsible for overseeing every aspect of the various services and interventions provided by the agency. Dr. Finn is a Court Appointed evaluator in Cook, Lake, McHenry, Kane, Kendall and DuPage Counties, providing 604.10c and 215(a) evaluations. As an evaluator and clinician, Dr. Finn is objective and compassionate in his approach. Dr. Finn is a published author who has also presented to several professional groups, including the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, Illinois Bar Association, Kane County Bar Association, Cook County Guardian ad Litem training, Texas Center for the Judiciary, Texas Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and the Forensic Forum of Chicago, serving as the President of the Forensic Forum in 2014.
Dr. Finn's areas of clinical expertise include: child custody, parental alienation, high conflict families, parent-child reunification and co-parenting.
Kendra Schwarz works as Dr. Finn's Administrative Assistant, assisting in scheduling and coordinating of evaluations.
Carol Reid, Psy.D.
Dr. Reid provides both training and supervision to our clinical team, as well as serving individuals and families through our diverse clinical services. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families, providing individual, group and family therapies. Dr. Reid's approach is collaborative, with clients helping to define the areas they wish to focus on, while also providing compassionate feedback aimed at addressing the conflicts her clients experience. With over ten years of experience, Dr. Reid is able to hone in on the challenges one experiences, and help develop alternative strategies to thrive. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Reid also teaches at the graduate level, educating fututehr counselors, therapists and psychologists.
Dr. Reid's areas of clinical interest include: co-parenting, emotional regulation, ADHD and learning disabiltiies, anxiety and depression, as well as parent-chidl relationship concerns. Dr. Reid coordinates our Family Ties program, working to repair fractured or damaged parent-child relationships, as well as provides therapeutic visitation and reunification therapy.
Every year, A.H.D.C. is proud to work with graduate school programs and train future therapists. We welcome our 2018-2019 students to our clinical team!
Fareha Ansari is an intern, working towards her Master's in Counseling.
Sage Kim is an intern, also working towards her Master's in Counseling.
Wendy Hubbard is a therapy extern, working towards her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
All three trainees possess the knowledge and skills to assist clients in reaching their full potential. They provide supervised and therapeutic visitation, individual and family therapies and group therapies.
